I am not the Walrus

A lie.
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
And whether pigs have wings."
When I do something wrong, I lose sleep. However, I wonder about other hateful people that are uncontrollably in my life. I am always reminded of this Walrus quote. Sometimes, I think maybe the Walrus really believed that what he was saying was true. But after careful thought, the Walrus knew he was lying. People live by standards that they set themselves, and there is little excuse for any poor acts committed upon yourself, your loved ones, or your fellow humans. I believe myself to be of good nature, with flaws that I will struggle with for the rest of my life. I have always prided myself on being honest. However, the Walrus lied, knew it, and he got what he wanted. What precedence does that set for me and my fellow man?
The Duchess from Alice in Wonderland said "every thing's got a moral, if only you can find it."
Disclaimer; I am not making GW references here. I truly understand that he did believe WMD's were in Iraq. Saddam's military leaders were still threatening the Kurdish people with WMD's up until we invaded Iraq the second time. But today, maybe he knows that the only way to control Iraq is to leave, and keep bombing them into the stone age until they can get it right on their own. But publicly he says he wants to help the Iraqi people. I will deal with this topic in another post.
