Sweet Caroline
I never really noticed that during every Red Sox game, at the top of the eighth, they play "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. Well I went there last Tuesday night when poor Papelbon blew the game, I thought of better things. It dawned on me that it must be some tradition. With a little research i came up with the answer.
It started with A Former Red Sox employee Billy Fitzpatrick. He worked in Fenway Park's control room. In 1998 his daughter Caroline was born. The following summer they played it, and the rest is history.
