Douglas Adams

This is a clip from Infinite MHz in 1998, where we interviewed Douglas Adams. He talks about the game "Starship Titanic" and the movie "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" (which started off with an entirely different cast and crew).

"Best of" DVD is in the works. Reunion show will be scheduled in the fall, and the DVD should be released for Christmas.

I have a Bacon number of 3!

Douglas Adams was in Rockstar (2000) with John Cleese.
John Cleese was in Big Picture, The (1989) with Kevin Bacon.

BRNO Apartment

Check out this place.

This is, supposedly, where we are staying in the Czech Republic. It has no TV, but it is a great deal for the price. Looks clean, has an oven and its own bathroom. My Dad was reminding me of the old "Russian Bear"" and how his dad would have had a heart attack if he knew I was going over there. This apartment makes those bedtime stories I heard growing up a pseudo reality. Same type of colors and design. I don't want to offend the Czech people by associating them Russia, but they were perceived back then as part of an evil empire.

Things change; they are not communist anymore, and the Czech Republic is one of the most friendly countries in the world. I can not wait to hang out with all the cool people over there. Drink the beer, eat the food, see the sites, its going to be awesome. There are some cool caves we are going to visit, and transportation is easy and inexpensive (makes Boston look like a labyrinth).

However, I still want to get an old framed picture of Stalin! How cool would that be? The most vicious mass murderer ever. I think he beats Hitler by a million people. I could put him over my toilet, so I can look at it every time I take a piss. I would say "What a big Dick!"

IMDB and Infinite MHz

It's interesting to finally see my old TV show on IMDB. I was chatting with some of the old crew the other day and realized that its been 10+ years when the show started.

I am sitting on the old shows waiting to put them to DVD. I probably have close to 100 hours. Could be in that Amazon link. Am I too lazy? Or am I sitting on something that grows in value over time?

Scientology

True story. I once bought a book on Scientology and ever since then I get weird calls and strange mailings. I love harassing these people in Tampa and did a great job harassing them in CA on Sunset.

Spiderman 3

After 2 hours and 20 minutes during a nice sunny afternoon matinee, at the Cape Cod Mall, I saw Spiderman 3. Its always nice to see a film every now and then on the big screen with the surround sound. The Malls' stadium seating is comfortable for a long film. Unfortunately, you have to give up an afternoon on a day off to watch a popular movie to be comfortable with affordability.

Maybe I am getting old, but the comic book aspect is sort of troublesome to me. Not to give away too much, but Spiderman saves a woman from a random accident that is the police chiefs daughter, who is dating Peter Parkers nemesis from the newspaper, who is also Peter Parkers lab partner, well there is more, but I will stop here. This is just a small example of the incredible coincidences throughout the film.

So a good film that's long, with some slow parts. But the action and special effects make up for it. 4/5

Bees in hive now

Picked up a package of bees today. Pretty friendly creatures when they are swarming (no home). So i threw them into a nice condo. They seem pretty happy now. The Queen looked great! Nice and healthy. I am going to check on them tomorrow and give them some sugar water then been asking for.

Sweet Caroline

I never really noticed that during every Red Sox game, at the top of the eighth, they play "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond. Well I went there last Tuesday night when poor Papelbon blew the game, I thought of better things. It dawned on me that it must be some tradition. With a little research i came up with the answer.

It started with A Former Red Sox employee Billy Fitzpatrick. He worked in Fenway Park's control room. In 1998 his daughter Caroline was born. The following summer they played it, and the rest is history.

Home invasion backfires on 2 illegals

I don't know if this is true yet, but you got to admit this is cool!

The problem is, in Massachusetts, I lock all my firearms down. However, I guess you take the good with the bad. Also, my kid is not a clay shooting champion.

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen .45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

Faces of Death

In 1978, "Faces of Death" came out. I remember my Dad being revolted at what the media told him about this "Snuff" film. Of course I had to see it. How disappointing to find that it was all faked! Sure it included some autopsies and animal killing, but seeing all the silliness of people pretending to die was a disappointment. Well at the time, when I watched it later it turned out to be a comedy.

Well here is Conan's take. Brilliant stuff.
